Hot games are signature games taking place, that are either a great matchup, an odd opening spread, or have other implications and significance to them.
NBA: Miami Heat @ Philadelphia 76ers – Game 2 (1-0 76ers)
Game 1 showed just how focused the 76ers are for the playoffs this year. They absolutely destroyed the Heat by 27 points, and for game 2, the line is set at favoring the 76ers at -6.5 points. The Heat will likely improve upon the 27 point blow out, but that isn’t hard by an NBA team to improve upon.
The Heat looked absolutely brutal in game 1, and with one of their star players, Whiteside, extremely unhappy right now, I don’t think much is going to change in terms of the morale around the team. They are also playing away from home, in a city that is hungry for more wins. It will take a lot for the Heat to figure this one out, but a bounce back game is looking unlikely.
So much was impressive by the Phillies it is almost impossible not to absolutely love them today and look for them to take an easy 2-0 lead in the series. They are too focused and too determined to let anything slip.
Bold Prediction: 76ers blow out the Heat, cover -6.5
MLB: Kansas City Royals @ Toronto Blue Jays
The Toronto Blue Jays have looked incredibly impressive over the past few games, and with Skoglund taking the mound for the Royals, it is looking like the Blue Jays will get an additional opportunity to let the bats swing, and runs come in.
The Royals are one of the worst offensive teams in the league right now, and teams still have not figured out Blue Jays pitcher, Jaime Garcia, who will take the mound.
Not only is the pitcher matchup in favor of the Blue Jays, but the offense should continue to fire on all cylinders, even without Josh Donaldson.
Bold Prediction: Toronto Blue Jays win
MLB: Philadelphia Phillies @ Atlanta Braves
If you follow patterns, then you will love this game as it is absolutely full of them! The Phillies are red hot right now, coming into this Monday matchup, and they have the lineup to do so. Teheran has been struggling to left-handed batters, and the top 5 batters in the Phillies lineup can do damage at any time.
The Braves hate Mondays and have only won once this season when playing on a Monday. They most likely won’t be ready for this game either. With the Phillies rolling and the entire city of Philly rolling in sports, there is a lot of hype and a lot of determination by every team to continue to give the city something to cheer for.
Bold Prediction: Philadelphia Phillies win
